As the release of the next-gen iPhone is approaching, rumours are freely bubbling across the web. Consumers are impatient as ever when it comes to Apple’s products. Even though the iPhone 5s posted impressive numbers when it comes to sales, everyone expected to see a little bit more of the device. Therefore, the tech giant is expected to catch up to the highest expectations this time. Here are some of the hottest and most believable rumours about iPhone 6 from the last few days.
Display
The hottest iPhone 6 topic is its screen. There are predictions that Apple will add a few more inches to its upcoming smartphone. Latest reports seem to confirm that, claiming that the handset will rock a 4.7” display. Unlike previous years, the screen will not be supplied by Samsung and Sharp. Apple has reportedly hired an LCD manufacturer from Taiwan to take care of this task.
Will the iPhone 6 have a Retina display? It is very likely that it will. However, its resolution will be far from the trendy QHD screens. Instead, it will be more similar to that of full HD display and support 1134×750 pixels.
Thinner Bezel
Some iPhone fans are worried that the new big-screened smartphone from Apple will be too bulky and will offer a poor one-hand experience. But that may not be the case since the company is also rumoured to reduce the size of the phone’s bezel by 20%. In that way, the display of the device will increase without increasing the size of the iPhone itself too much. This could also make the phone’s design more appealing.
Extra Power
Another rumour is that iPhone 6 will arrive with a 50% to 70% more powerful battery. If the screen size of the handset is bigger, that would actually be a necessity.
NFC
Until recently, it was not expected that Apple’s new gadget will support near-field communication. However, a report published two weeks ago, states that the company will include this feature to their new device. The technology giant is said to have teamed up with a Chinese mobile payment provider namely for that purpose.
Release Date
We know that you have probably hoped for an early iPhone 6 release. Despite that, all signs suggest that Apple will stick to its old product launch schedule and roll out the handset in the fall of 2014. In addition, German website shared that Apple has limited its employees from taking vacation this September. Therefore, iPhone 6 may arrive around that time.
Price
The price of the next-generation iPhone is more likely to go up than to head down. Early prediction point at a price tag of about $800. Still, without a confirmed specifications list it is really hard to tell.
iPhablet
One of the most interesting iPhone 6 rumours, however, has little to do with a different device called iPhablet. Apple is said to also launch its first phablet device this year. It is not clear whether the company will introduce it along with the new iPhone or before that. Despite that, the details regarding the iPhablet are slowly staring to increase in number. Most sources agree that it will come with a 5.5” display and a resolution of 1740×960 pixels. Still, there is absolutely no information on the possible supplier of the bigger displays for the device. So, this one may end to be nothing more than a rumour.
Although iPhone 6 may not be released before September 2014, we may get a sneak peak of its operating system iOS 8. Next month, Apple will organize its annual developers conference WWDC. The company is expected to unveil its new mobile OS at the event.
