The multi-award winning, decades-long American soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful” will feature Middle Eastern glamour in its upcoming season. Some of the episodes have been staged in the spectacular setting of Dubai’s most luxurious hotels. Viewers in the US are now watching the epic battle between Ridge Forrester and Bill over Brooke’s heart, while the audience in the UAE will see the episodes next year, when they are scheduled to air on Dubai One.

In March, cast members Don Diamont who plays businessman Bill Spencer Jr. and the absolute star of the show, Katherine Kelly Lang, better known as Brooke Logan, arrived in Dubai for a three-day shoot in some of the most luxurious places in the city. The episodes shooting took place at Atlantis, The Palm, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall Promenade, and the Skydive Dubai Helipad before moving to Abu Dhabi and its Emirates Palace, Yas Marina Circuit and the Marina. “The Bold and the Beautiful”, which now celebrates its 27th anniversary, is the first American daytime soap opera to film in the UAE. The nine episodes, partially shot in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, are now broadcasting in the United States on CBS, showing the glamorous life of the rich, the bold and he beautiful.

The plot follows Brooke and her newest fiancé, the business mogul Bill Spencer, as they decide to escape and marry in the UAE. They are supposed to say their “I Dos” in a fabulous private beach wedding, but of course, there wouldn’t be any drama without the arrival of Ridge who is determined to ruin their plans. Although engaged to Brooke’s sister Kathie, Ridge Forrester, played by “All Our Children” star Thorsten Kaye, packs up and races to Dubai to stop the wedding. He wants to show Brooke a photograph, which will prove that Bill is unfaithful, having an affair. So, the upcoming episodes are full of drama, intrigues and love triangles, as well as lots of action, glitz and beautiful, exotic locations, which will keep the fans of the show even more entertained.

Typically, daytime TV shows don’t just hit the road to film abroad, but “The Bold and the Beautiful” is an exception with a few locations the crew has already explored, including Italy, Mexico and Australia. But the UAE is a little surprising and the idea came up when Katherine Kelly Lang shared that she wanted to visit Abu Dhabi for the Triathlon. Executive producer and head writer Brad Bell reveals that the crew then decided to join her and move the series’ action to the beautiful shores of the Arabian Peninsula. He says he’s always wanted to come here because of the astonishing rapid growth and development of the country. And Dubai – so young, yet so luxurious and exciting, indeed a city for the bold and the beautiful!

The show is celebrating its 27th anniversary, having 27th seasons and over 7000 episodes. Receiving more awards than any other soap opera, it has reached to millions of viewers in more than 100 countries around the world. “The Bold and the Beautiful” has been nominated for more than 2000 prizes and accolades through the years, among which are multiple Daytime Emmy Awards – for Outstanding Drama Series, for directing and writing team, for lead actor and actress, and others.

The show has been popular in the Emirates for many years and right now it broadcasts three times a day on the Dubai One satellite network. The nine episodes filmed in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will air in 2015 according to the channel’s programme.
