Dubai will become the city with the world’s most expensive and luxurious taxis although just for a few days. As part of a car festival, residents and visitors in the emirate will have the unique opportunity to explore the city in a cab worth more than AED 1 million.
This interesting campaign is called Supercar Taxi and it is one of the many events that will be included in this year’s Dubai Motor Festival. People in Dubai will be able to enjoy a cab ride in super luxurious vehicles. Among them will be Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley Conti GT Spur, Ferrari 458 and Rolls Royce Ghost. The value of each of them is estimated at over AED 1 million.
However, those who want to feel like a V.I.P. need to know that this will be possible only during the last two weekends of November and the first weekend of December. The ultra pricy cabs will work for 10 full hours per day on November 21-22, November 28-29 and December 5-6. In addition, commuters will only have the chance to take a one-way ride. Nevertheless, the entire experience will be completely free.
To catch one of these unique taxis, Dubai’s residents and guests need to go to key locations in the city, like the airport, a large mall one of the many tourist attractions in the emirate. According to the organizers of Dubai Motor Festivals, the cabs will be waiting for their clients near these locations.
Those, who are not among the lucky ones to enjoy the Supercar Taxi experience, may get a second chance. Dubai Motor Festival officials shared that, if people who great interest in the initiative, it may be extended over a few more days.
Another highlight event of this year’s Dubai Motor Festival will also be the Dubai Grand Parade. Like every year, it will showcase various classic and super cars and bikes in a convey that will pass through Dubai’s main streets. Both the starting and the ending point of the parade will be Meydan. It is expected that this time it will feature over 500 rides. If these predictions are correct, Dubai will manage to break the world record for the most car brands participating in one parade.
But breaking one Guinness World Record is never enough for Dubai. Through the Dubai Grand Parade, the city will also attempt to break a second record – longest selfie in the world. The snap in question will be taken right after the parade ends and it will somehow include all the vehicles that have participated in the event.
The 2014 Dubai Motor Festival will kick off on November 19th and it will run until December 6.
