Most search engines have already released lists of the top searched terms. Microsoft Corp.’s Bing was also among them. The World Cup, Kim Kardashian and Ebola were just some of topics that headed the platform’s list this year.

However, Bing decided offer a peek into the new 2015. The search engine introduced yet another list, this time with predictions for next year. They cover various spheres of life, like travel, technology fashion, sports and even awards shows. To look into the future, Bing analyzed cultural, social and search signals to spot emerging trends that are likely to pick up more attention in 2015!

Technology

014_detailA huge trend in technology will be home automation. Although it will take some more time before consumers give in to it, it will definitely be a popular topic in 2015. Virtual gaming and 3D printing will also leave their imprint next year.

However, the biggest technological trend of 2015, according to Bing, will be wearables. The search platform has noticed that these devices are the hottest emerging tendency in this category in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific. In South America, wearable gadgets come second after digital personal assistants.

Bing sees wearables as a really huge trend end even offers predictions within this category. Apple Watch will be the hands-down winner. It is expected to be followed by Samsung Gear devices. Also, popular will be the Microsoft Band, Motorola’s Moto 360, Jawbone and FitBit devices and the LG G Watch.

Travel

Emerging search trends suggest that 2015 will be the year of Middle Eastern food. An increasing number of restaurants will add culinary specialties from that part of the world and spark foodies interest in it. Among the most popular dishes will be hummus, falafel, baklava and kebab.

Fashion and Designers

As for fashion trends, 2015 will be all about turtlenecks and harem pants. Unfortunately, Bing has also spotting something quite concerning – denim tuxedos might witness a comeback next year. For that, you can thank/blame Katy Perry and her denim throwback at this year’s VMAs.

Awards

Bing goes even further offering a list of Grammy and Golden Globe winners for 2015. The search platform has calculated that Iggy Azalea has the greatest chance to win Record of the Year at the 57th Grammy Awards for her song “Fancy.” Beyonce, on the other hand, will take home the Grammy for Album of the Year. Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” is expected to win Song of the Year, whereas Sam Smith will get the Grammy for Best New Artist.

Bing’s Golden Globe predictions are not far from critics’ expectations for the awards. According to Microsoft’s search engine, “Boyhood” will be honoured with an award in the category Best Motion Picture, Drama. Best Actor in Drama, judging by current search and social trends will be Eddie Redmayne for his performance in “The Theory of Everything.” Bing expects that Julianne Moore will receive the award for Best Actress in Drama for her role in “Still Alive.” “Birdman” is predicted to take a Golden Globe award for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.
