On Monday, the Internet has gone wild over an exciting rumor – music superstar Prince is reportedly coming to Dubai for a secret concert on Wednesday night. The award-winning singer is said to perform at Pacha Ibiza Dubai – an exclusive, invite-only fundraising show for charity Autism Rocks.

1421022934_prince-467In 2010, Prince was one of the headliners at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after-race concert series and fans who didn’t have the chance to see him on that occasion, will have this opportunity on Wednesday, February 4. This is at least what Dubai monthly magazine What’s On reported on Monday, although there is still no official confirmation by event organizers or a representative of the star. In fact, not everyone will be able to see the singer, according to the magazine – the show will be only by invitations.

The secret concert is reportedly organized as an exclusive fundraiser for London-based charity Autism Rocks. A similar show is taking place on Monday at London’s Koko, and the rumor is that Prince will be backed at both concerts by his band 3rdeyegirl. Local entertainers will also take part, although no details have surfaced. The tickets for the Dubai’ show are said to go for AED 367, but to be able to purchase one, you should be invited first. There is also no information how the invitations would be sent, to whom, and so on.

But it’s certain that if the concert really takes place, it will have a very limited audience, as Patcha’s total capacity is less than 2,000. Last year, a similar private performance by Prince surprised his London fans at Camden’s Electric Ballroom. It was available to only 1,000 lucky music lovers and was part of the “guerilla gigs” as the singer himself called them, in support of his then new album “Plectrum Electrum”. These concerts are known for the fact, that organizers keep the venue a secret, so the  rumor about a Dubai appearance may well hold true.
