Downtown Dubai is preparing to welcome the Emirates Classic Car Festival for the seventh time. The event will kick off this week on March 19 (Thursday) and it will run until March 22 (Sunday). Some of the cars that will be showcased during the weekend have already made their way to Downtown Dubai’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and are being prepared for the unique show.

The 2015 edition of Emirates Classic Car Festival is expected to be the biggest in its 7-year-long history. It will showcase over 250 vehicles, trucks and motorcycles. That is why the show will cover a larger area this year, reaching all the way to Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower.

The retro cars that the public will be able to see include big brand names like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls Royce. Some of the vehicles that will participate in the festival are part of private collection of UAE-based enthusiasts. However, they will also be many cars, motorcycles and trucks that will be transported to Dubai from the Middle East, the U.S. and Europe specially for the event.

As part of the festival, there will also be an award ceremony, which will honor vehicles based on qualities like uniqueness, value, finishes, upkeep, aesthetics and originality. The winners will be selected by an expert jury. There will be awards in various categories like Parade Cars, Heritage Cars, Pre-World War II Vehicles, Classic Trucks, Modern Classics and others.  Visitors will also get the chance to choose their favorite vehicle at the event through voting.

The 2015 Emirates Classic Car Festival will be held between March 19-22, at Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, Downtown Dubai. Every day between March 19-22, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., the public will have the opportunity to see the classic rides.
