The 2015 Best Companies to Work for in UAE ranking has undergone some major changes compared to all previous list. The new list is based on employees’ opinion on the different companies’ work culture. This means that all the entries in the ranking score high when it comes to employee satisfaction, workplace conditions and management. In addition to that, it was found that the majority of the companies that made it to this year’s top 15 also have the practice to organize special events and initiatives for their employees encouraging better work-life balance.
DHL continues to the be the best company to work for in the United Arab Emirates, according to the study. Nevertheless, Microsoft and FedEx Express that have each topped the ranking a number of times in the past, have both witnessed a big fall. As a start, FedEx Express, which has almost always been in the top 3 (with the exception of the 2014 list) is now sitting at the edge of the list at number 14. Microsoft, which was names best company in UAE back in 2011 and 2013 and second best in 2012 and 2014, is nowhere to be found. For the first time since the creation of this ranking, the technology giant has dropped outside the Top 15. Similar is the faith of Bayt and Emirates Transport, which occupied the 8th and the 11th positions respectively last year.
The high number of dropouts, however, means that there are many newcomers on the list as well. Manufacturing and production company Leminar is the only one of them that made it to the top 10. Other new arrivals on the ranking in 2015 include WSP (12), Apparel Group (13), as well as MasterCard (15).
The only company, apart from DHL, that managed to maintain its last year’s position is Omnicom Media Group. The media company continues to be the third best place to work in the UAE.

The study also lists the most distinguished SMEs to work for in the United Arab Emirates. Here, the big winner is professional service company biz-group. It is followed by marketing agency Dabo & Co. (2) and Abu Dhabi Finance (3). Also in the top five are Eton Institute (4) and Advanced Watertek (5).
