The Emirates Group will reveal its three-phased Emiratisation strategy, Rehlaty, tomorrow at Careers UAE 2015. The national recruitment strategy, which is currently in its third phase, was implemented two years ago to ensure that UAE Nationals are well-placed in a variety of positions to support the growth of Emirates airline and dnata.
Through Rehlaty, the Group has set an Emiratisation target to recruit and retain UAE Nationals and is offering a range of career opportunities and scholarships to ensure its new recruits are well equipped for a dynamic career – whether with Emirates, the world’s largest international airline; dnata, the global air services provider which today has operations in 38 countries on five continents; or a Group-wide business unit such as Human Resources, IT, Procurement, Facilities Management, and Marketing.
“We’ve spent years developing and establishing a dedicated National Recruitment strategy that would give us a structured framework, allowing us to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of our programmes. Rehlaty will ensure UAE Nationals who join the group are matched with the right opportunities and offered the necessary development tools to grow,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group.
“At the Emirates Group, our aim is not to simply fulfil a quota, but to build, invest and contribute to the development of this nation through its people. I look forward to see UAE Nationals occupying senior positions within the Group, and ensuring both the company and the country is well-positioned for any future challenges.” he added.
The three phases of Rehlaty consist of planning, developing and retaining UAE Nationals and placing them across different facets of the business. Whether they were high school graduates or holders of bachelor degrees, the Group ensures that they are all trained and provided the educational support to grow within the organisation.
UAE Nationals constitute a growing proportion of the leadership across the Group, illustrating the success of UAE’s policies and Emiratisation programmes.
The National Recruitment and Development division in the Emirates Group includes a dedicated team of 37 to recruit and develop extensive training programmes for UAE nationals. The department makes continuous efforts throughout the year to attract Emiratis, from regular visits to educational institutions and summer training programmes for students, to career fairs across the UAE and proactive recruitment.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, Careers UAE 2015, a three-day fair, kicks off today at Dubai World Trade Centre.
