Majid Al Futtaim – the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa – is inviting the community to take part in the two-week drive in raising funds to help build homes in Nepal, through playing the all-time favourite board game MONOPOLY at City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif and Mall of the Emirates until June 15.
The giant MONOPOLY is a life-sized, tailor-made version of the world-famous real estate game featuring UAE iconic landmarks, celebrating the heritage and diversity of the Emirates. Instant prizes await players who land on the retail partners’ properties.
Mall visitors have the option to play the game live and aim to land on a particular block to donate to charity.
In addition, a life-sized monopoly house located inside each mall is set up, where visitors who wish to donate directly without playing the game can contribute to help build homes for families in need.
A digital metre placed at the gaming area will display the donations progress until the last day of the mall activation, and the total amount will then be donated to Red Crescent.
Brought to the region for the second time by Majid Al Futtaim, MONOPOLY is one of the key events in the wider celebration of two decades of great moments with Majid Al Futtaim. This year marks the 20th anniversary of City Centre Deira, 10th anniversary of Mall of the Emirates, 5th anniversary of City Centre Mirdif and 80th anniversary of MONOPOLY.
To play the game, shoppers can exchange their shopping receipts of AED 300 for a token, and get a chance to win AED 500 every ten minutes. Each shopper can play up to four times per day from 12pm – 10pm on weekdays and 12pm – 12am on weekends.
