You can avoid jet lag by exercising a lot, eating fresh vegetables, drink a lot of water and get enough sleep the day before you travel. And after landing at your destination, don’t drink more than a cup or two of coffee. Just try to walk around for an hour after the flight and get a lot of fresh air. It always helps.

Know what is essential. While on the road, you shouldn’t really bring expensive things and valuables. What really matters on your trip is relaxing – be responsible, keep your ID, passport, credit card or cash safe, and know that everything else can be replaced in case of lost luggage, being robbed, and so on.
Pack a portable charger with a three-way tap for all your devices and get a power converter/adapter if you are traveling to a country with different standards. Don’t bring large-sized earphones – ear plugs should be enough. And for instant speakers while you’re having a breakfast in the hotel room just put your phone in a coffee mug.
Do use the time on the plane to work. Many business travelers tend to finish up something or prepare for the next day’s presentation on the plane. But it will only make you feel even more tired. Instead, take these few hours as personal time and cherish something you really enjoy – have an extra glass of wine, watch a fun comedy, play a silly game on your iPad or read a really interesting book. This will make time go faster than ever.
You don’t have to travel twice a month to feel comfortable on the road – even the first-time traveler will have a great journey if he tries to be smarter, more practical and a little creative. And most of all, try to relax and don’t take problems too seriously. You’ll have plenty of time for that when you get home.
