Burj2020 District’ conceptual master plan to be unveiled
DMCC, the authority on trade, enterprise and commodities in Dubai, and master developer of the Burj2020 District, will make its Cityscape debut at the 2015 Cityscape Global Conference, being held in Dubai from 8 to 10 September.
Cityscape Global visitors will be introduced to the Burj2020 District, the new heart of global business, through ‘Burj2020 Vision’, an experiential journey screened at DMCC’s stand A10, Hall 2, Dubai World Trade Centre. In addition, a three-dimensional interactive multimedia map will offer visitors a unique opportunity to view the Emirate’s new growth corridor from its southern gateway.
The master planned Burj2020 District will be a vibrant new destination for business that delivers the perfect balance of premium commercial, retail, hospitality and residential space, all set within a thriving urban landscape. The district, which will include a total of seven towers, will have over 1 million square meters of built up area (BUA), and incorporate the latest thinking around multi-functional urban environments and cater to the evolving and future needs of business. The centrepiece of the Burj2020 District will be the Burj2020, a super tall commercial tower being designed by renowned global architects Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill (AS+GG).
Adrian and Gordon, who were the architects for Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia, will be on the DMCC stand, during the opening morning, to discuss the philosophy behind the bold design of DMCC’s ambitious Burj2020. Adrian was also the architect of Burj Khalifa, whilst working with SOM and before establishing AS+GG.
