Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) released today its latest monthly statistical report on prices of construction materials in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including an analysis of movement of the average prices of building materials during the month of February 2016 compared to the months of January 2016 and February 2015.
The statistical report provides an analysis of the movement of average prices of building materials during the month of February 2016 compared with January 2016 and February 2015.
The report shows the average prices of the ‘Block’, ‘Concrete’ and ‘Steel’ groups increased by 13.8%, 6.6% and 4.6% respectively in February 2016, compared with January 2016. Meanwhile, the average price of ‘Diesel’ decreased by 14.9%, ‘Paints’ by 14.3% and ‘Waterproofing products’ by 5.9% compared with January 2016.
During February 2016 the average price of the ‘Block’ group increased by 8.5%, ‘False ceiling’ by 8.1% and ‘Concrete’ by 6.6% compared with February 2015. In February 2015, the average prices of ‘Diesel’, ‘Waterproofing products’ and ‘Steel’ decreased by 41.7%, 19.9% and 18.8% respectively, compared with the same period in the previous year.
The increases in the average prices in February 2016 compared with January 2016, ranged between 1.4% for the ‘Wood’ group and 13.8% for the ‘Block’ group. Decreases ranging from 0.5% for ‘Wires for apartments’ and 14.9% for the ‘Diesel’ group were recorded.
