The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) Order of Merit (OOM) final results have been calculated. Now, top adult and junior amateur golfers across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have less than a week to prepare for the EGF OOM Championship.
Winners of the 2014 – 2015 EGF Order of Merit Season and Championship
The EGF OOM Championship is a two-day event that will take place on May 27-28, 2016 at Jumeriah Golf Estates (Earth & Fire Course). This event hosted by EGF, will have representing divisions for Men, Ladies, and Junior golfers. The fields will be composed of the top golfers from Men’s and Ladies Divisions and top placed Juniors in OOM events all season long.
The EGF OOM Men’s Division, played in a Gross format, was composed of 13 events, starting on October 3, 2015 and ending on May 7, 2016. These two-day, 36-hole, events proved to deliver a test for every golfer participating.
Christopher Rahm playing out of the Jumeriah Golf Estates was the 2015 – 2016 EGF OOM Men’s Division Champion. With 239.9 points, Rahm is a strong favorite going into this year’s EGF OOM Championship. Rahm had four First Place finishes and four Top Five finished out of the 10 events that he competed in.
Finishing as the Runner-Up in the EGF OOM Men’s Division was Steve Kelbrick. Representing the Jumeriah Golf Estates, Kelbrick had a total of 205 points for the season. Taking the Third Place position was Tiago Lobo playing out of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club with 199.55 points.
In the EGF OOM Ladies’ Division there are two different scoring categories, Gross and Net. The Net category includes the calculation of the golfers handicap. The ladies started the season on October 16, 2015 and finished on April 30, 2016. There were a total of 11, one-day, 18-hole, events throughout the season.
Taking the top honors of the EGF OOM Ladies Gross Division was Alison Muirhead from Jumeriah Golf Estates. Alison had a total of 234 points. Alison played in 9 events, with four First Place finishes and five other Top Five finishes. Alison also finished as the Runner-Up in the Net Category with 147 points. Look for Alison to have a big impact at the EGF OOM Championship, as she will be playing on her home course.
Anastasia Bakal, playing out of The Els Club, took the Runner-Up position in the Gross category with 204 points. Wrapping up the Top Three spots and placing Third in the Ladies Gross Category was Madeleen Grosskopf playing out of Al Badia Golf Club. Madeleen had 152 Gross Points.
In the Ladies Net Category, Sakura Kawakami from Al Ain Equestrian Shooting & Golf Club was the EGF OOM Season winner with 170.3. The Third Place prize went to Glory Xavier who plays out of the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Glory had 137 points.
The EGF OOM Junior Divisions consists of two divisions and two categories for each division. Both, Boys and Girls Junior Divisions had a Gross and Net Category. The season started on October 10, 2015 and ended on April 30, 2016. Each division was played over a total of 10, one-day, 18-hole, tournaments.
Winning the EGF OOM Boys Gross Division was Aryan Chorida playing out of the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Chordia played in all 10 events with one First Place finish and five Top Five finishes. Chorida finished with a total of 215.3 points.
Zubair Bin Mohammed Firdaus, playing out of Jumeriah Golf Estates, finished as the Runner-Up with 197.8 points. Finishing in Third Place was Aryaan Kumar who is also from Jumeriah Golf Estates. Kumar had 156.8 points.
In the EGF OOM Boys Net Division, Vijayesh Haridas, playing out of Al Badia Golf Club, was the Champion with a total of 170.5. The Runner-Up was Ahmed Ashfaq representing the Emirates Golf Federation. Ahmed had 152 points. Finishing in Third Place for the Net Category was Hoshi Yadav from The Els Club with 131.5 points.
With the same format in the EGF OOM Girls Divisions, Da Eun Jung was the Champion of the Gross Category and Net Category. Chantal had 241.5 points in the Gross Category and 228 points in the Net Category. Chantal plays out the Abu Dhabi City Golf Club.
Chantel El-Chaib, playing out of Abu Dhabi Golf Club, finished as the Runner-Up in the Gross Category with a total of 190.5 points.
Finishing in Third Place in the Gross Category and Net Category was Eshna Bhargava, from the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Eshna finished with 183.5 points in the Gross Category and 173.5 points in the Net Category.
Anushka Bhargava, from Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club finished as the Runner-Up in the Net Category with 182 points.

Now that the 2015 – 2016 EGF OOM Season has ended golfers are gearing up for the EGF Order of Merit Championship at Jumeriah Golf Estates. The EGF is excited to present this prestigious event as the winners OOM Season and winners of the OOM Championship will be celebrated after the second round.
