This year, Echo Dot has proved to be the most popular product in Amazon’s Black Friday sale. Currently, the device is sold out, but you can still order as new stock will ship from December 1 onward.

According to a statement received from Amazon, customers ordered more items on Black Friday in 2016 than Black Friday 2015. Amazon earlier announced new record in mobile orders on Thanksgiving Day. Mobile orders from Amazon customers on Thanksgiving Day exceeded both Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday 2015.

“Echo Dot was the best-selling item on Amazon.com on Thanksgiving and continues to be the best-selling item on Black Friday so far,” said a Amazon spokes woman last Friday.

Of all Amazon flagship products, the Echo Dot 2nd generation is the most sold on Black Friday, despite that it is only discounted by $10 (25%). It seems, consumers are eager to try devices with Alexa on the cheap before they upgrade to the more expensive Amazon Echo.

The Echo Dot 2 sells for $39.99 on Amazon.com. Ordering before Cyber Monday guarantees to receive the dot before Christmas.

The Amazon Echo Dot is a hands-free, voice-controlled device with a small built-in speaker—it can also connect to your speakers or headphones over Bluetooth or through a 3.5 mm audio cable to deliver stereo sound to the speakers you choose. Dot connects to the Alexa Voice Service to play music, provide information, news, sports scores, weather, and more..

Echo Dot can hear you from across the room, even while music is playing. When you want to use Echo Dot, just say the wake word “Alexa” and Dot responds instantly.
