Many countries and cultures celebrate Christmas in different and some times unusual, or traditional ways. That is why Christmas celebrations vary from one place to another. For some Christmas is not about turkey and carols. In this article we have collected some of the most interesting Christmas traditions from all around the world. Let’s take a look at how different cultures celebrate Christmas.
Venezuela
Venezuela has one of the most entertaining Christmas traditions. It is called The Big Toe. Before Christmas many streets in Venezuela are closed and people get on their roller-skates to go to the church. A string is tied on the children’s toes. Then kids are told to let the end of the string out of their window when they go to bed. In the morning roller-skaters start to return from mass and when they see a hanging string they tug it. This is done so that children can wake up early to receive their gifts.
