The UAE will be the next country to host the 160-year-old global event, Dubai Expo 2020 and has selected the theme “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, with a focus on sustainability, mobility and opportunity.
World Expo’s attract millions of visitors to explore and discover pavilions, exhibits and cultural events, staged by hundreds of participants including nations, international organisations and businesses.
With news regarding Expo 2020 Dubai slowly beginning to trickle in, we can proudly reveal the winning designs for three of the pavilions.
The designs were picked as part of an architectural competition, with the winning entries selected from the design’s of thirteen architectural firms.
The Opportunity Pavilion
The Opportunity Pavilion comes from Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) who are based out of New York and Copenhagen and responsible for the design of the Google Headquarters. The designs for Expo2020 look to be sleek and ultra-modern, though judging from the the images below look perfectly in keeping with our desert environment.
